In recent years, Gorey has grown in popularity due to its welcoming attitude and close location to Dublin, without the high price tag of the capital. It takes up to 90 minutes to reach the City Centre from the town of Gorey and the Central Statistics Office figures showed that approximately 2,490 people commute to Dublin from Co Wexford.
